LineUp

Lance Morris & Matt Cotman

Lance and Matt go back to the high school football season of 2016 when they called a Seneca East vs Tiffin Calvert game on the WFOB Gridiron One. Since that game there have been plenty of jokes between the two. Lance's favorite is in the imitation of other people around the station. Matt's favorite involves 'playing football in leather helmets'.

They started calling games together on a full-time basis in football in the 2017 playoffs, and did both football and basketball together in 2019.

Listen every Wednesday from 6-7:30 to hear them talk with area high school sports coaches and players, and talk about whatever the big topics are in the world of sports!

Well for starters I come from a family where I am the only child.

I knew I wanted to do something in sports from a fairly young age. It wasn't until I shadowed then Toledo Sports radio personality, Norm Wamer, that I knew I wanted to do sports radio.

I graduated from Northwood High School in Northwood, Ohio in 2012. I graduated from THE Bowling Green State University in May of 2016 with a degree in Media Production with a focus on radio. While in school I was a part of the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization and did play-by-play for multiple BGSU Teams. I was lucky enough to broadcast from Quicken Loans Arena (now Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse) for the Semi-Finals of the MAC Men's Basketball Tournament, and I got to be a sideline reporter for the MAC Title game in Football at Ford Field in 2015.

As amazing as those experiences have been I've been fortunate to have two summers broadcasting baseball. The summer of 2015 I was in Xenia, Ohio, and the summer of 2016 I was in Chugiak, Alaska! Spending two months in Alaska was some of the best days I've ever had in my life. Each of those summers helped shape me in ways that probably couldn't and wouldn't have happened otherwise.

Sports and Pop Culture are where I get my main thrills on a day-to-day basis. My teams are the Detroit Tigers, Orlando Magic, BGSU Falcons, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

My favorite Sports Radio Shows & Podcasts: The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz and anything from the Le Batard and Friends Podcast Network.
I enjoy my 're-watch podcasts as well with Office Ladies (The Office) and Talkville (Smallville)

My music fix is mostly rap and rock. Boston, Styx, Foreigner, Kansas and Bon Jovi are some of my favorites that we play on Classic Hits.

You can catch me on-the-air in some different ways throughout the week!

Monday-Friday: Doing News & Sports reports with Dawn at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, & 9:30
Wednesdays: Hosting the NWO Orthopedics Sports Huddle live from the Fricker's Studios from 6-7:30 (both stations, football through basketball).
Fridays: Doing play-by-play for our BVC/SBC Game Of The Week during football and basketball season.

“For as long as I can remember, I have known three truths in life: 1. My love of sports in all its forms is unending 2. Tacos are life 3. Hard work and dedication should be the foundation of everything we do in life and 4. I am bad at math.
I got my start broadcasting after competing an incredible 11-year football career in the quaint cozy town of Tiffin, Ohio. My roommate was convinced I was incapable of shutting up, so he suggested I do a show at Heidelberg’s radio station once a week, and the rest is history. From sideline reporter, all the way to Sports Director, I moved up the ranks throughout my college career and discovered not just a love for broadcasting, but a love for Northwestern Ohio as a whole. Once I graduated, I was working weekends on WFOB.com Gridiron One, and weekdays as a call producer on WTAM 1100 in Cleveland on The Bob Frantz Show. Since then, I have received paychecks from Sporting News, Yahoo, and now finally ESPN all while staying at the same radio station! I can tell you stories from all the seasons I have been working here at Tri-County Broadcasting, from seeing McComb become state champions with a legendary team of players, to St. Wendelin giving up 40 points in a single quarter against Sandusky St. Mary. What I love most about being here, however, is the fans and the players. Having the interactions with fans during pre-games, seeing these young athletes hone their skills over the years and become incredible young adults is easily my favorite part of the job (ok sappy stuff over!!)
I live in Cleveland, born and raised, and have been a lifelong fan of all Cleveland teams, even the Browns back when they were terrible! I also throw my hat behind teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NOT a bandwagon fan and have plenty of proof to back that up!), The Vikings, The Titans, The Jaguars…. Really every team besides Pittsburgh and Baltimore (they know what they did…)
As for my interests? I am a colossal nerd! I love sci-fi movies like Star Wars and Jurassic Park, I’m a major Comic book geek for the books and the movies (Marvel all the way and Deadpool fan for life), my favorite place on earth is the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and when I’m not doing broadcasts I can be found elbow-deep in computers and networks as a cybersecurity specialist. So clearly, I’m a major geek.
I am sure I’m running out of space, so I’ll leave this bio with the obligatory “follow me on Twitter!” if you found any of this funny, but also want to remind each and every one of you that read this that you’re here for a reason. I call it doing the Lord’s Work. We’re all here for a specific reason and purpose, I think mine is talking into a microphone and entertaining you all with bad jokes and sports knowledge, and I hope that each of you can find out what your purpose is so you can also do the Lord’s Work too….

…….. but seriously follow me on twitter….

My radio broadcasting journey didn't start until I was a Junior at Findlay High School back in 2011. I started working at 88.3 WLFC which is the student radio station for the University of Findlay. During the rest of my high school years, I helped create highlight clips for sporting events and did sideline reporting for football. I graduated from high school in 2013 and went to the University of Findlay. While I was in college, I was able to work for 1330 WFIN helping with the high school football scoreboard show, commercial editing, and producing. I eventually did play-by-play for their taped delay games covering the Blanchard Valley Conference for football and basketball. I also had the opportunity to do two internships with the Cleveland Browns in 2015 working in Special Events and Corporate Partnerships.

Once I graduated from college, I did an internship with the Spartan Sports Network in East Lansing, MI covering Michigan State athletics. I helped with their morning show, interviewed coaches and players, created highlight clips for basketball and football, produced multiple sporting events, and created feature stories. I received a Michigan Association Broadcast Excellence Award for a feature I did on George Alderton.

My next pit stop was 95.7 FM and 1290 AM WHIO in Dayton, OH. I worked there for two years doing a wide variety of jobs for the station which included anchoring, producing network programming and University of Dayton basketball and football games, and created content during critical situations that effected the Dayton area.

After working in Dayton, I headed back to Findlay to work at 106.3 The Fox calling Ottawa-Glandorf High School football and basketball. During that season, the football team made it all the way to the Division V State Semifinals and the basketball team made it all the way to the Division III State Championship game.

Now, I'm happily working for 96.7 WBVI and ESPN 105.7 FM and 1430 AM hosting the Friday Night Psych Up Show and Scoreboard Show for high school football. I produce football and basketball games for both stations and am the Office Coordinator for the station.
