Dear Diary,
Well, after 6 weeks of the regular season and making sure the players stayed hydrated, we end up being 1-5. I know that I have been putting in the work to keep this team healthy, but this is getting a little bit ridiculous. It's not just me getting mad about how the season is going. We’re still dealing with a quarterback that cannot manage the football properly. Watson is ranked 24 in the league with just 1,020 passing yards, 5 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. Now, it’s great that he hasn’t been throwing a lot of picks like the previous years, but that’s either because he sits in the pocket too long and gets sacked, or he overthrows the receiver by a mile. What I want to know is who is really allowing Watson to stay out on the field. If I was in Stefanski’s shoes, I would be putting in Jameis Winston. At least Winston can run an offense in a decent manner.
If that wasn’t a big enough issue, the Browns are now dishing out Amari Cooper to the Bills for draft picks. Cooper was the leading wide receiver on the team and now leaves the team with Jerry Jeudy, Elijah Moore, and Cedric Tillman. Don’t get me wrong, Jeudy is great and is second in receiving but Moore and Tillman have combined for 104 yards receiving. Jeudy won’t be able to do everything for this squad because our tight ends have also been underperforming. David Njoku has just 89 receiving yards while Jordan Akins has 98. By making that trade, you might as well say that the Browns are giving up on the season after just 6 games.
While this is all going on for Cleveland, the Colts put in former Brown, Joe Flacco, who has been balling out and racking up wins while Anthony Richardson recovers from his injury. That could have been the Browns this year if they stuck with the veteran Super Bowl quarterback. While the Colts season is on the up and up, the Browns constantly see several injury reports week by week. There has not been a game where we have at least been completely 100%. As of right now, C Nick Harris is on IR while C Ethan Pocic, S Ronnie Hickman, LB Jordan Hicks, S Grant Delpit, RB Jerome Ford, CB Martin Emerson Jr., and WR Elijah Moore are all questionable. There is not enough water that I can serve up to this team that can help them turn this season around.
