Landscape & Wildlife Photography Instruction

Landscape & Wildlife Photography Instruction Join park volunteer and photographer, Dennis Hills, for Landscape & Wildlife Photography Instruction on Sunday, October 5, 12, & 19 from 3-5pm at the “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center located in Oakwoods Nature Preserve. Come and learn about the various types of digital cameras, understand megapixels and about high resolution images, how the sensor size can affect the focal length, technical elements of a good photograph, elements of exposure and how to achieve proper exposure, understand basic mode dial settings, and much more! Sign up for this 3 week consecutive program so that you will gain the knowledge and confidence to go out on your own to capture amazing landscape and wildlife photographs. This program is for ages 15 years and older and you will be required to bring your own digital camera. You will have the opportunity for one on one assistance and group interaction during each class and each week the program will provide instruction and time for field experience. A registration fee for the 3 programs is $18.00, and is due by October 2. The Oakwoods Nature Preserve, “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center is located at 1400 Oakwoods Lane, off West Sandusky Street, off CR 144, west of Findlay. The Wood County Historical Museum is pleased to host a nationally-recognized photography exhibit by Christopher Payne called Asylum: "Inside the Closed World of State Mental Hospitals". The exhibit and companion book will be in the new gallery space at the Wood County Historical Museum May 31 - November 16, 2014. An opening reception is planned for Friday, May 30, from 6-8pm, with Payne's remarks and book signing. This event is free and open to the public.
