Art in the Park: Plein Air Artists

From 6:00PM to 8:00PM

If you love to paint or draw outdoors, the Plein Air Artists group is just for you! This program is part of the Hancock Park District Adult Nature Education Program and is open to all adult and teen artists, from professional to interested and enthusiastic amateurs, who use any medium conducive to working outdoors. Meet at the Band Shell on Wednesday, October 1 from 6-8pm at Riverside Park. Plan to bring your own art supplies and equipment needed and dress for ground and weather conditions. The coordinator will be available each session to answer questions. There is no fee and registration is not necessary. If there is inclement weather, the session will be cancelled. FOUNTAIN CEMETERY FALL CLEAN UP, FOSTORIA

The Fall clean-up at Fountain Cemetery will take place October 1st (weather permitting). Lot owners are asked to remove all Summer decorations from their lots before October 1st. Any remaining items, with the exception of those directly on the stone, will be disposed of by cemetery employees. Lot owners are asked to wait until October 3rd before placing new fall and winter decorations on their lots.

The Wood County Historical Museum is pleased to host a nationally-recognized photography exhibit by Christopher Payne called Asylum: "Inside the Closed World of State Mental Hospitals". The exhibit and companion book will be in the new gallery space at the Wood County Historical Museum May 31 - November 16, 2014. An opening reception is planned for Friday, May 30, from 6-8pm, with Payne's remarks and book signing. This event is free and open to the public.
